Island Demographics

The island was really framed by a spring of gushing lava ejection. Due to this emission, there is a goliath caldera or tidal pond in the focal point of the island. The tidal pond is molded like a rectangle and measures 12 km by 7 km. Towering, steep bluffs encompass the tidal pond on three sides. The precipices are as high as 300 meters. On the outside of the precipices, the island inclines down into the Aegean Sea.
On the fourth side of the island, the little island of Therasia isolates the tidal pond from the ocean. The tidal pond is roughly 400 meters profound, which makes it a fabulous delivery port.
The fountain of liquid magma that made the island is a standout amongst the most dynamic volcanoes in the Aegean Sea. The ejection that made the island is one of the biggest volcanic blasts ever.
